MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.

1/15/1929  -  4/4/1968

Everybody can be great...because anybody can serve.

You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You

Don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve.

You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should

sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or

Beethoven played music, or Shakespeare wrote

poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the

hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, here

lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

When we let freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village

and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be

able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and

white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be

able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual,

"Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"

 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

"Could you not then watch one hour with me?"

"...Through the passion and death of Jesus an infinite ocean of mercy was made available for all of us. But God, who created us free, will not force anything on us,

not even His mercy.

He must wait for us to turn our sinfulness and ask:

"Ask and it will be given to you...for everyone who asks receives." (Mt 7:7,8)

Pope John Paul II echoed this scriptural message with a new urgency for our own times:

'At no time...especially at a moment as critical as our own -

can the church forget the prayer that is a cry for the mercy of God...

the church has the right and the duty

to appeal to the God of mercy with loud cries." (Rich in Mercy)

Jesus told St. Faustina

"souls that make an appeal to My mercy delight Me...

to such souls I grant even more graces than they ask."

(Diary of St. Faustina)

HOLY CHILDHOOD SCHOOL

WEB SITE:  holychildhoodschool.com
Email: hcs@holychildhoodschool.com
Principal:  Mr. Ron Karcher:  476-3505
School Office: 566-2922

There is a story about a high school graduation where people spoke and thanked everyone for what they had done for them. Applause followed. The last person to speak was the class valedictorian and as she came to the microphone she asked,” Mom and Dad, where are you?” Scanning the crowd and not finding them she repeated the question, “Where are you, mom and dad?” Two people stood up. Their daughter, beaming, said, "Audience I would like to introduce you to my parents. I have asked them to stand along with me because I would not be up here today had it not been for them. And now I would like everyone to give them a round of applause." They say everyone applauded and it seemed that parents everywhere were being honored.

Parenting. This most sacred duty cannot be understated. I am convinced, that a parent’s deeply rooted commitment to his or her children will launch them to new heights. The effort of parents and school to teach what is right, to teach that God is a part of their lives will bear fruit.   The growth in our children’s souls will come to bloom before us as we stand looking on in appreciation. Catholic education at Holy Childhood School and in the home is as important now as it was 150 years ago. As parents, if you haven’t heard the applause yet you will hear it someday. Thank you for your commitment to Catholic education and the souls of your children.

Sincerely,

Deacon Ron Karcher

Principal – Holy Childhood School
