FATHER'S TWO CENTS WORTH
Father was visiting his brother from April 19th - 23rd, so he was not able to write his weekly message. He did call and told us he was having a good time and getting some much needed rest!
Father would also like to express that he hopes the First Communicants continue to receive the Eucharist throughout their lifetime.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION
" 'Every soul should reflect my mercy', Jesus said to St. Faustina reminding her of the basic Christian duty: the New Testament commandment of active love of our neighbor, of each and every person, even one's enemy. The exercise of mercy is thus not just a recommendation as a piece of advice, but the duty of every follower of Christ and it applies in a special way to those who wish to be the worshippers and apostles of the Divine Mercy." (She Made an Ordinary Life Extraordinary by Sister M. Elizabeth Siysah.)
Worship Our Lord in Eucharistic Adoration on Tuesday following the 8 AM Mass until 7 PM and Saturday morning from 9 to 10 AM. If you would like to commit to a specific hour on Tuesdays please call Mary Ellen Mueller, 566-9529

Dear Parents and Friends,
On Saturday, April 24, Holy Childhood School celebrates 150 years as a Catholic school. On February 2, 1859, the first teacher F. X. Landwehrlen, a layman, was employed and was later joined by Lorenz Gottsleben as the second teacher. All of this happened as a nation was struggling with a Civil war.
There are some interesting facts. Holy Childhood School has provided vocations to the priesthood, sisters, brothers and deacons. Saturday night Mass will be celebrated with Fr. Von Deeke, Deacons Bob Lanter, Bob Lippert and Rich Bagby - all graduates of Holy Childhood Catholic School.
Our main school building was built in 1923 and the whole second floor was an auditorium and stage and had a balcony (now an upstairs closet). Additional classrooms (Grades K, 1, 2, 4), a gym and cafeteria were added in the ‘60’s.
Over the years, Kindergarten, preschool and after care programs have been added. Graduates from many generations and different decades will be joining us, sharing stories, and seeing how things have changed. Tickets are available $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Mass is at 5:30 followed by Open House etc. at 6:30. You can purchase tickets at the school office or call Nancy Austin at 618 604-6633.
For 150 years, Holy Childhood has been blessed by people who believed in Catholic education and were willing to make the sacrifice of time, talent and treasure. God bless you.
Sincerely, Deacon Ron Karcher Principal
