We in the Diocesan Ministry To Sick & Aged are very grateful for the presence and help of youth from Holy Childhood Parish at our 33rd Annual Summer Outing for Nursing Home Residents at the Diocesan Pastoral Center on Wednesday, June 8, 2011. Without the help of the youth of our diocese, we would be unable to provide this special event for our elders. Thank You!
Confirmation Banners can be picked up in the Sacristy at church (where the servers’ vestments are kept).
WE Need families to help sell raffle tickets after each mass starting July 16th through August 21st. Please contact the parish office at 566-2958 if your family can help. NEEDED: empty 2 liter soda bottles with lids. Still accepting donations for our Quilt Bingo! If you have not yet donated, please consider it. This is our biggest money maker for our church. If you have baskets from past picnics that you do not use, we would be more than happy to take them back to reuse in our basket stands! PLEASE don’t forget our Country Store . . . they need your homemade goodies.
We are looking for families to volunteer to host Welcome Sunday. This would entail handing out name tags at the 8 and 10:30 Masses on Welcome Sunday held once a month, and to participate in the after Mass celebration. Please contact the rectory if you would like to volunteer for one month out of the year.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION
"We need to go to the Lord first, continually and last. When we are sad, He is our consolation. When we have no joy, He brings us hope. When we are weak, He is our strength. When we are frightened, He is our courage. He heals us when we need to be healed, and fills us with all that we need, when we go to Him. He will not impose His will upon us. We decide, ourselves, whether or not to be open to the Lord and to all the incredible gifts He gives. "
Visit Jesus in Eucharistic Adoration every Tuesday following the 8 AM Mass until 7 PM, and on Saturdays from 9-10 AM. If you would like to commit to a specific hour to pray on Tuesdays, please call Mary Ellen Mueller at 566-9529.

Seven Deadly Sins, Seven Lively Virtues: Anger, Sloth, & Avarice (Part II of III). Join Fr. Robert Barron for this engaging presentation on the seven deadly sins, which inhibit our flourishing in our relationship with God and with one another. Borrowing from Dante's Divine Comedy, Fr. Barron demonstrates how the deadly sins are internal patterns of dysfunction leading ultimately to man's unhappiness. Fr. Barron shows us how to counteract these seven sinful patterns, however, by developing the seven lively virtues. These virtues offer antidotes to each sin and help us on the path to healing and happiness. Join us for the Cathedral Adult Faith Formation on Thursday, June 23 at 7:00 PM in the Undercroft as we explore anger, sloth, and avarice.
