Outdoor Movie Night and Jamie Norrenberns' House.  July, 2008

A SUMMER OF SERVICE

This summer, the Holy Childhood CYO [Catholic Youth Group] has taken time to get to its original purpose: to help and do service for others.  On numerous occasions the youth members of the CYO group have gone out of their way and beyond to help those who really need it.

One new project the youth group has started this year is to visit and bring food to the Ronald McDonald House located next to Cardinal Glennon Hospital.  It is such a great feeling to know you have helped someone else who really deserves it.

Also this summer the group has worked at the Fayetteville Church Picnic at the game stands.  They helped set up and take down a blood drive at Holy Childhood School, picked up trash around Mascoutah, and tidied up the church and Monsignor Hartlein’s house.

This year’s CYO group really understands the importance of service and how far a good deed can go.  The CYO group is truly defining the act of service.  This summer has truly been a summer of service.

It is not how much we give, but how much love we put in the giving.”
