a. Window Contract
Mike provided an update on the school window replacement project. Mike met with Wilke Windows & Doors rep to discuss bid for school window project. Wilke’s Job Proposal was presented to the Council. The proposal included all windows in the main & east school building and each of the classrooms will have 2 operable windows. No abatement will be needed as asbestos will be encapsulated. Wilke will build scaffolding for project so no big lifts will be needed. Ceilings above windows will still need to be taken down/up for access. This project will not include the gym or cafeteria windows, or new school doors.
Approximate total cost associated with this project is $255,000. Mike reported that enough donations have been received to cover this cost and allow the project to move forward.
Next steps: Mike to obtain a contract with Wilke and provide details to Council at February meeting. March 1, 2026, remains the target date for a final contract so that work can be scheduled to minimize interruptions to school operations. June 8, 2026, is target date to begin work.
